Leeds vs Shef田野同志 Wed

Now far adrift from the fight for the playoffs, and the scrap for
Championship safety, Leeds United will be looking to arrest their
dreadful run of form when they host Sheffield Wednesday in this
ever-passionate Yorkshire derby.

Though Leeds may be destined for another year in the Championship, they
can maintain the tension amongst the fanbase of their hated rivals
Sheffield Wednesday. The visitors, a Premier League mainstay in the
1990s, find themselves just eight points ahead of the relegation zone
ahead of kickoff.

It could have been a completely different scenario for Leeds, had it not
been for a recent run of 13 games with just one win (D5, L7). Wednesday
are going through an exact similar run, and while they are a fair
distance away from danger, repeated failures in defence could yet give
their situation a grave twist.

Leed’s recent form at Elland Road has not been comforting in the
slightest, with just one win in their last six home games (W1, D2, L3).
Wednesday’s away form, meanwhile, is even worse, with the Owls returning
a record of W0, D3, L3 from their last six road trips.

Wednesday’s troubles run deeper than a lot of people realise. They
remain one of the lowest scorers in away games (14 goals). Only two
teams have scored fewer than that on the road.

Players to watch: Both Pierre-Michel Lasogga (Leeds) and Gary Hooper
(Wednesday) have ten goals this season, but have not scored in their
last four games.

Stat attack: Leeds have lost only once to Wednesday in their last nine
encounters at home (W5, D3, L1 in all competitions.

Both clubs have developed a habit of conceding late (in the final
quarter of matches) over the course of this season. Respectively Leeds
and Sheffield Wednesday have conceded after 67.5 minutes in 27% and 29%
of their matches.
